OFFICE MEZZANINE FLOOR - FARESHARE YORKSHIRE PROJECT UPDATE
Our latest project brings us to Barnsley where we are in the process of implementing an office mezzanine floor project for a charity that has been fighting hunger and tackling food waste for nearly a decade, Fareshare Yorkshire.
Fareshare Yorkshire provide support to over 183 charities and community groups throughout Yorkshire. Areas that they cover include Leeds, Sheffield, York, Doncaster, Huddersfield and much more. They deliver surplus food from the likes of ASDA and Sainsbury’s to charities and community centres to feed the vulnerable people of Yorkshire.
They also provide volunteer opportunities and employability programmes funded by the Big Lottery Fund to help individuals along the path to employment. The whole operation has been a big success and due to this success, Fareshare Yorkshire needed to either move premises or expand their current facilities.
Gareth Batty the CEO of Fareshare Yorkshire sat down with the other decision makers at Fareshare Yorkshire to see what the best plan of action was and after much deliberation decided that it would be too costly to move the operation to a new premises. Therefore they began the search for a mezzanine floor design and build specialist that could provide them with the new office space that they required.
After looking at our website and being impressed ‘It was obvious there was a very high standard of work, it looked perfect for what we needed’ said Gareth Batty the CEO of Fareshare Yorkshire, they decided to contact us.
Gareth explained that Fareshare Yorkshire required both new office space for their growing number of office based staff, but also a new packing area which will allow them to further grow the charities reach with the introduction of a lorry operating from the premises.
This is why an office mezzanine floor was the ideal solution. It allowed them to create the new office space up in the air instead of taking up valuable space within the warehouse that was reserved for the new packing area.
We are adjoining the new office mezzanine floor facilities to their existing office space on the first floor, creating a seamless solution. Underneath the mezzanine floor we are installing a suspended ceiling with lighting to illuminate the new packing area that will be situated underneath.
Fareshare Yorkshire have received a large investment from ASDA to help with this project as part of their fight hunger, create change programme. This is ensuring that they receive a top spec solution.
The project as a whole involves the creation of an open plan office space on the mezzanine with sixteen desk positions, two Directors offices and a kitchen area. We are also creating a knock through to their existing office space on the first floor and refurbishing their existing meeting room as well.
Their existing office facilities are actually lower than the new mezzanine so we are creating a step down by lowering the mezzanine steels to line the floors up. We are implementing each and every aspect of the project including the partitioning, electrics, lighting and plumbing.
The project is due to take six weeks and once it’s all complete, Fareshare Yorkshire will have a fresh and vibrant office space to work from and a brand new packing area which will help to grow the charity even further.
If your business is growing and you require more space to fulfil your potential, contact us today. A mezzanine floor could be the ideal solution for you and your business.
