The essential first stage of your mezzanine flooring or fit out project is an accurate survey. One of our expert designers will visit your premises to discuss your requirements in detail and conduct a comprehensive site survey.

Our goal is to learn about your business and understand how you currently operate. This will allow us to design a workspace that adds value to your business and makes the most of your building. 

Here’s how it works:

• Visit you at your premises to start the survey process
• Obtain your initial brief 
• Survey the space 
• Brainstorm ideas and determine suitability – with our in-depth knowledge, we may suggest ideas you haven’t even considered 
• Evaluate the space from a building control perspective
• Discuss budget and finishes 
• Discuss client responsibilities (slab details, asbestos reports, Principal Designer & Principal Contractor roles)

A mezzanine flooring or fit out survey can take anywhere between an hour and a full day, depending on the complexity of the project and the size of your premises. We’ll give you an idea of how long we think it will take, enabling you to select the most convenient day and time for us to visit.

Once we’ve taken your brief and carried out a thorough survey, its back to the office to design your new space – combining your requirements and our expert knowledge to create the right solution for your needs.

We’ll create concept drawing layouts of your new workspace and depending on your requirements we can also produce 3D visualisations, allowing you to see exactly what your new premises will look like on completion.

• We aim to set up a Microsoft Teams meeting within 5 working days – to discuss your concept and budget
• We’ll provide an initial budget price, determined through our extensive experience and understanding of how much different mezzanine floor installations and fit outs cost – a more accurate price will be determined during the next step
• At this stage, you’ll be able to request a formal quotation or adjustments to the space/specifications prior to progressing
• During this process, we’ll also ensure that building control confirmation is achieved by engaging an approved independent building control officer.

This process will either be carried out in person or other a teams meeting, rather than sending information and drawings via email. We’ve found that this is an important stage in order to guide you through the fit out process and allow you the opportunity to ask questions. This ensures neither party is left to make assumptions and allows us to move onto the next stage of the process.

Once you’ve confirmed your acceptance of our concept drawings, we’ll create a detailed proposal for your mezzanine flooring or fit out project. Here at Nexus we believe transparency is key, so we itemise every single aspect and element of your project within our quotations.

With our complete turn-key solutions, you have the added benefit of only having to work with one contractor for the duration of the project – so you can avoid negotiating with and chasing quotes from multiple contractors, which can often cause delays in project roll-out. 

At this stage you can expect

• Provide you with an accurate quotation and drawing detailing your new mezzanine floor or warehouse/office fit out
• Provision of a semi-accurate programme of works in order to establish dates and to give you an idea of timeframes

We’re happy to carry out this process remotely or in person, and we promise to deliver a detailed quotation within 10 working days of concept approval.

At this stage, we’ll assign you with your own dedicated project co-ordinator who’ll guide you through this part of the process, which involves the following:

• Placing your order with us when you’re happy to proceed
• Payment terms are agreed
• Deposit payments are made, and once received we’ll move forward with the creation of your construction drawings
• Secondary surveys are completed if required to carry out double-checks
• Construction drawings are produced for your sign-off
• We’ll create and issue you with a programme of works 
• We order the necessary materials and the lead time commences
• As the client, you officially appoint us as Principal Designer and/or Principal Contractor

It’s nearly time for your mezzanine flooring to be installed, but first there are a few more things we need to organise…

• Submission of building control application
• Submission of F10 notifications if required
• Construction phase plan is compiled and issued, including:
  • • • • • RAMS
          • Drawings
          • Programme of works
          • Insurances
          • General health & safety procedures
• Introduction to your assigned site manager

We’ll also arrange pre-start meetings at this stage too, getting everything in place ready for construction. 

This is where the real action starts, with construction of your mezzanine flooring or full fit out solution commencing in line with all the elements we’ve covered above. 

• Set up the site including:
  • • • CDM table
      • Sign-in procedures
      • Health & safety signage
      • Fencing
      • Site briefing for project staff and your employees
• Site inductions
• General build stage as per programme
• Health & safety and quality audits conducted to ensure best practice

That’s it! Your new mezzanine flooring or fit out project has been completed and you can now ramp up production or productivity in line with your business goals – just a few final things to do before our work is done…

• Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manual issued 
• Guided walk-round of your new mezzanine floor and facilities
• Snagging list created and fulfilled
