ONE COORDINATED TEAM.
For a commercial project involving more than one contractor—or where that is reasonably foreseeable—you must appoint a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor in writing, before construction starts. This can include subcontractors, even when you engage one main contractor.
Nexus can fulfil both roles where appointed, helping coordinate design and construction health and safety. Your own client duties remain; we help you understand what needs to happen.

Your day-to-day point of contact for the programme, working drawings and regular updates. A project management role, distinct from the statutory appointments.
Required appointments should be made as soon as practicable, before construction begins. If you don’t make them, you must fulfil those duties yourself. Project scope and formal responsibilities are agreed for your fit out.
