Blackburn Distributions are a leading supplier and manufacturer of sports supplements, healthcare products and pharmaceutical excipients. They supply their products both within the UK and internationally, with over 66 different countries on their client list.

Their products come in various forms, they manufacture encapsulated & powdered products and also supply a wide range of nutritional items in their raw ingredient form.

Blackburn Distributions were expanding their business and identified another premises in Burnley. The facility was brand new so as such, didn’t come with any facilities inside. So they needed to contact a specialist company to come in and examine their space and offer a solution.

Ben Blackburn the Managing Director of Blackburn Distributions knew he wanted an office mezzanine floor solution, so he contacted Nexus after a google search for mezzanine solution providers.

Blackburn Distributions also required additional storage space and a production room for their products. So they needed a company that had experience in providing office, storage and production solutions previously and this is where we came in.

Blackburn Distributions required facilities to house their office based employees, a storage area for their products and temperature controlled clean rooms for their production needs.

The office facilities included an open plan office and a Director’s office created through the installation of solid partitioning and a glass partition, complete with integral blinds for privacy.

The offices were finished off with a green feature wall, a grey patterned carpet design and suspended ceilings and lighting. We also provided all power and data requirements.

On the ground floor we created a meeting room for visitors and internal meetings alike. The ground floor facilities were finished off with a kitchen and WC area.

The production areas needed to be temperature controlled due to the delicate nature of their products. We have specialised in these kind of facilities on numerous projects previously, which really helped to convince Ben that we were the right team for their project.

‘The initial meeting was really good, I felt like they were interested in what we were doing as a business and trying to provide the best solution for us, not necessarily just trying to get a sale. They also worked with us through a long consultation period whilst we fine tuned what the design was.

‘We wanted to make the most of our floor space by installing a mezzanine structure. A lot of other companies seemed to only deal with installing industrial mezzanines or doing office fit out’s, whereas Nexus provided the entirety of that solution for us.’
