OFFICE MEZZANINE FLOOR SPOT PROMOTIONS

Spot Promotions source and supply a wide range of quality products to convenience stores and forecourts across the UK. Their products include the likes of air fresheners, gifts & gadgets, home essentials, mobile accessories and much more.

With over 30 years of experience under their belts, they have recently branched out and acquired another business, called Designer Fragrances. With the success of that venture coupled with the ongoing success of Spot Promotions, they needed to acquire a new premises.

Once they had identified the new premises in Bury, they knew they had to source a fit out specialist to come in and design and build new office facilities for them. Like so many warehouses theses days, the premises was essentially empty, with only a small reception area, tea point and WC area built within the space. So more office space was a must.

‘We purchased a brand new company called Designer Fragrances and we developed a brand new product called the Blast Can. The product is now becoming very popular within the UK and going global. So due to the expansion of that product, we needed a much bigger premises and we needed to get some new offices created within that.’ – Asiffa Gadatra, Sales Director, Spot Promotions.

Spot Promotions required the help of a design and build specialist, to provide them with a solution that enabled them to trust in the process and be reassured that once the keys were handed back to them, they would have a fully functioning workspace that met their needs.

‘We noticed that there weren’t any office, boardroom or canteen facilities in the new premises, so we needed to look for a contractor that could take everything off our hands, from the moment we handed it over to them, through to completion.’ 

Here at Nexus, that’s what we do, so once we met with Asiffa and Shiraz and discussed their requirements, we began the process of designing their new space to their exact requirements. Spot Promotions point of contact throughout the design and concept stage was our Senior Designer, Lee Maddaford.

‘I talked to Lee initially over the phone and he was very polite. He came out within a couple of days of speaking to him, we went through a plan of what we wanted. Then within a couple of days he came back with a quote, which was really clear and accurate, it was really easy to understand and we knew exactly what we was going to get.’

As with any project, Spot Promotions made a few changes to their requirements throughout the design and quotation stage, whilst formulating exactly what they required. ‘Even after making changes, after we had accepted the quote, he was very quick in turning everything around, he was fantastic.’ But once the final designs were signed off, it was onto the next stage of the project, the build.

‘They said they would start on a certain date, which they did. The people that worked with them on site were absolutely excellent, very well mannered and very clean. It was a really good experience.’ 

We’ve created new office mezzanine floor facilities whilst also incorporating their existing reception and WC areas into the design. Spot Promotions required an open plan office space to house their sales, marketing and accounting teams, along with two smaller offices for their Directors.

On the first floor of the mezzanine floor we have created a kitchen and breakout area for their staff to use to eat and prepare their lunch in and also relax in during their break. Elsewhere on the first floor we have created a boardroom overlooking the warehouse facilities and within this room we have installed a feature wall for Spot Promotions to showcase their products on, during meetings.

‘It was a really good experience, Shiraz and I never had to worry about a single thing. They just took over and delivered the end product.’
