THE CHALLENGE

Mission Labs have been powering the future of business communications since 2016 and have an impressive portfolio of clients from FTSE 100 giants through to some of the nations largest government departments.

Through cutting edge cloud native technology, Mission Labs are enabling businesses to communicate more effectively in house and with their clients, which in turn is helping them to improve their productivity, reduce costs, provide their customers with a better experience and increase their profits too.

With their three main products; SmartAgent, Circleloop and SmartPCI they are providing a suite of products that can help revolutionise the way that a number of businesses operate, by enabling a smarter and more streamlined way of working.

The popularity of their products has provided them with significant growth in a short number of years and with over 100 employees on the books, they needed to look at a new premises to provide their growing team with a fantastic environment to work in that enabled them to always be at their best.

‘So as a business, we found ourselves growing very quickly since we founded the company. Pre-pandemic we were reaching capacity in our head office just north of Manchester, so we knew we had to do something to support the growth of the business. We knew we needed to look for new premises and during the lockdown period we identified Arbeta and it’s close proximity to Manchester, with accessible transport and parking as being a great location for us to cement the future growth of our team.’ – Damian Hanson, Managing Director, Mission Labs.

THE SOLUTION

Once Mission Labs had identified the Arbeta building in Manchester as the location of their new office space, they needed to find the right office fit out partner for their requirements. Because it was a large and empty open plan space, it needed to be transformed into a working environment for their fast growing team, before they moved in.

‘So once we’d agreed terms on Arbeta as the location of choice for us, the building itself, was handed over to us in a shell like state. We ran a tendering process to see who would be the right fit out firm to work with and right from the start really David and the team at Nexus were very impressive.’

Mission Labs wanted their new office space to be fresh, modern and provide numerous workspaces that could be utilised for both collaborative and solo work. With that in mind, we included a large stadium seating presentation area with multiple meeting tables, various comfortable meeting pods and a number of small glass partitioned meeting areas.

‘We would have no issue recommending the team at Nexus to other businesses. The project was delivered superbly for us. Their professionalism and the overall delivery of everything we wanted and beyond what we wanted, was absolutely fantastic’

‘This is a great space for us to cement the future growth of the team, Nexus have delivered an excellent solution for us.’

Alongside that, there are open plan meeting areas scattered throughout the design with either wipeable walls or televisions for the team at Mission Labs to utilise. Alongside this we also included more traditional aspects within the design such as an open plan desk layout and a glass partitioned boardroom. With all these aspects combined, Mission Labs have a versatile workspace that enables their team to work in the right environment for the task they have to carry out.

‘I think it’s clear that the future of the workplace has changed forever and what we wanted to do with this project from the very start was create somewhere that our team want to come back and work within. So we put a lot of thought into how the space within the office is used, so we have collaboration areas, meeting rooms, nice spaces for training and breakout areas, it’s something that is really enjoyed by the team and actually makes them want to come back into the workplace. ‘

The design of the new workspace also included an open plan kitchen and dining area, reception and waiting area for visitors and a gym for Mission Labs employees.

WHY MISSION LABS CHOSE NEXUS

‘Right from the start, David and the team at Nexus were really impressive. They understood our requirements and had a real vision that aligned with ours in terms of what we wanted from the space at Arbeta.’

‘Once the team were onsite and working through their process, they were absolutely excellent. Not just with ourselves and our team but also with the landlord of the building and working collaboratively with their facilities management team to ensure that everything ran seamlessly.’

‘We were quite clear that we didn’t want to be disrupted in terms of our day to day working jobs and that the team at Nexus would manage things for us to make sure that we could carry on running the business. Nexus really stepped up to ensure that was the case from start to finish’Damian Hanson, Managing Director, Mission Labs

THE RESULTS

Mission Labs had acquired a large, empty space that was the perfect platform for them to create their ideal workspace for their growing team. Through their partnership with us they have achieved a vibrant, versatile and welcoming space for their employees to return to after the Covid period.

The space provides their team with varying environments to help them achieve their goals. Whether it’s a glass partitioned work area to knuckle down in, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy office or a comfortable meeting pod to exchange ideas with their colleagues, they aren’t short of options.

We wish everyone at Mission Labs all the best in the future and hope that they enjoy their new workspace for many years to come.

“Well done to the team at Nexus and thanks for your efforts in making a Mission Labs space that we're very proud of.”
