STORAGE MEZZANINE FLOOR & CANTEEN - REDTRONIC PROJECT UPDATE
This week we started a brand new storage mezzanine floor and canteen project for the audio and visual warning signal manufacturer, Redtronic.
Redtronic have been supplying their visual and audio warning signals to the emergency services for over 34 years and manufacture many well known branded products that are sold throughout the UK such as Mega-Flash, Bullitt and Spartan.
They have now grown to the point where they have had to expand and purchase additional premises to accommodate their growing team and the facility requirements that come with such growth. Conveniently, the two units located next to Redtronic’s existing premises on Wellington Business Park, went up for sale.
Steve Redfearn, Redtronic’s Managing Director took advantage of this fact and purchased the new premises. However this wasn’t always the plan. Steve actually contacted us 12 months ago to talk through plans for a workshop and canteen within their original premises.
One of our Sales Representatives, Cliff Law visited Steve at their premises to discuss their needs and to conduct a site survey. Once this was completed, we provided Redtronic with detailed drawings of their proposed new space and an itemised ‘shopping list’ style quotation, allowing Steve to see a cost for each and every aspect of the project.
As with many of our clients, Steve had to get at least another two quotations for comparison of costs and we suggested he take off our prices and use the quotation as a tender of sorts. Ensuring the competition quotes for exactly the same solution that we were offering.
He went ahead with this idea and when the quotations came back, they were all more expensive than ours. Unfortunately, the project didn’t go ahead in it’s original form. This was due to the growth of Redtronic and the need for the space to be used for more production space.
However once Redtronic purchased the new premises, they could start looking at a mezzanine floor solution once again and contacted us to come in and quote for the current project. This project includes the installation of a 44 square metre storage mezzanine floor with canteen and WC facilities underneath.
The storage mezzanine floor is the ideal solution for Redtronic, because they aren’t losing the storage space the canteen would have been taking up, due to that available space now being utilised above the canteen.
Redtronic’s new canteen will seat between 12 – 16 warehouse employees at a time and features a kitchen unit, vinyl flooring and furniture supplied by Redtronic themselves. We are also implementing all electrical, lighting, smoke detection and alarm requirements.
A unisex WC facility is also being created underneath the mezzanine with all plumbing requirements taken care of by ourselves too. The new facilities are being created through the installation of a clamp and cover partitioning system.
We are pleased to be working with Redtronic on this project and we look forward to handing over the facilities once complete and hopefully working with them again in the future.
Is your business expanding and you require additional space? We have helped many clients to fit out their new premises or refurbish their existing facilities, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if your business is in a similar situation to what Redtronic were.
